Erika
E.
Wade

Erika E. Wade is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. She won her first writing contest as an 8th grader, beginning a writing career lasting for more than 18 years. Before she graduated high school, she had become the reigning champ of a city-wide spoken word contest, was a contributing writer for the Birmingham News, and figured out the hustle of writing.

Her works have been everywhere from Blavity, the Tampax #LiveRadiant Playbook, and the historic 13th Street Repertory Theater in NYC where she made her Off Off Broadway debut. In 2016, she was chosen as one of 22 playwrights in the nation as semi-finalists for The Kennedy Center MFA Playwrights workshop. She served as the Member-at-Large for The Gnome Haus Indie Co., and was the SCAD Dramatic Writing Alumni Mentor in 2018.

She’s currently working on film and TV projects in LA with major studios and her own production company, Glenda’s Baby Productions.
